Intro:

After trying and experimenting with different ideas, which is both practical and experimental, I would like to deliver a project is closely related to my life.

It has been a long time for me to live and study in America, and I also witness a lot of things and events happened in the past few years. One thing I realized is that there is a misunderstanding toward Chinese international students. A lot of Chinese media enjoys putting different tags on Chinese students who study abroad, such as hedonism, money digger, and don’t study. Because of these misunderstanding reports, some Chinese people call us the “lost generation”.

I have to admit that there are students like that who are wasting their money and time to study abroad. However, a lot of students are actually suffering from homesick, different food, money issues and so on. A lot of hard-working students and great students are not represented. Therefore, I want to use this opportunity to show a different side of international students from China.

Idea:

In this project, I designed a website based on interactive narrative, which includes a lot of personal interview with students that I did in the past. I also use different sounds and images to show their life and background.

In summary, I am going to reveal some stereotypes of the Chinese students who are studying abroad. The purpose is trying to express the true voice, the true sights of the Chinese students.
