Goddess
One only ever knows them self
On the line between maniacal power
And depressive obtrusion
On the rain drop in a gust of wind
Right before the rainbow
In the comfort that there is no noise
But the distant cars of
Fleeing civilization
Or when there is nothing beneath them
And they will plummet or rise
Do not give a name to your desire
A desire is not a muse
Call it lustfully on winds of the evening
Until a disdainful moon breaks the spell
Then silence of the stars
Awaiting a good night kiss
Dulls until it is mistaken
For actual boredom
Under this disdainful moon
Or did you forget
The fire of the sun is more than yours
To command
But do not try to hold it in your arms
And extinguish it
When the sun is enough
To see script before you
Then it is bright enough
To ring the breakfast bell
Set a table for two
Invite the sun in from the sky
But null
The sun, the moon, the stars
They all fall in your eyes
Before an aging soul finds the ground
Do not set yourself afire
To burn is not to learn
Wait for raindrops in the night
That rinse and clean
Until they are the backwaters of a bad dream
And exhaust of the human machine
Though the burning of the sky
Is most satisfactory to none
Let the rain fall until the sun rises
And confused returns below
Do not look into a mirror for your eyes
For I promise in your lifetime
You will miss each minute of consciousness
That I stand here behind you and whisper
There is one person that matters
And it isn’t you
Grab for the words that are not
Until the sun and moon fall faintly
The stars flailing for the comfort
Of another warm world
Like dying and rolling into another
When that’s all forgotten and no one can
Can satisfy desperate craves
For the meaning of self reliance
And there is only a table for two
In the morning sun
Do not call me your goddess then
Or burn holes like godless stripes
If you could live under the disdainful moon
Then the sun would come out to
Or may it plummet as the rains come on
Or the two sides forget
There is only one reason to exist
And it is not me.
