How Medium has Helped Me as a Writer

Yup, you read that right, I’m finally calling myself a writer.

Calling me a writer used to be a ridiculously impossible idea in my mind but Medium has given the chance to express myself and use my words to make that ‘ridiculously impossible’ idea be a reality.

Being the self-doubting person I am, I’ve always been looking at how negative things may turn out, not trying to give positivity any chance at all.

Medium is a perfect platform for amateur bloggers like me for it gives us an opportunity to find what we’re passionate about and focus on it. Medium has allowed me to somehow live my dream and publish my ideas.

I’ve been using Medium for 20 days now, and in those 20 days, I’ve learnt a lot. Reading blogs on how to be a better writer and person has also helped me overcome my self-destructive habits.

What I like about Medium is it’s solely focused on what you write; your looks won’t matter here. It is totally not like Facebook or Instagram wherein you need to look the best you can to get likes. In addition to that, the relationship that I see among its users is really special. I haven’t seen any criticism that is meant to hurt a writer; it’s always put in the gentlest way possible.

Lastly, the publications are a really effective tool to let the unheard voices be heard by a bigger audience, particularly those publications which give different writers a chance to share their thoughts and ideas.

And that also made me want to create my own publication, which I hope would be a successful one.

Since using Medium, I’ve committed myself to writing as much as I can, which I know will help me grow and develop as a writer.

As I explore more of Medium’s world, I wish to be a more active and contributing writer in this community.

Thank you for reading! Please share and recommend for others to see.
