Behind this mask I wear

Is another person I shall never share

Underneath my smiles and frowns

Lies a monster that comes from deep down

These words I say

Are the cries in my head all night and day

Every poem in my book

Is what I see from everywhere I look

A clown, that’s what I’m like

This loneliness, I try to fight

Playing a role of somebody else

As I write the story I will never tell

It’s all secrets and lies

That I breathe until I die

For this world is not made for me

It’s not a place to become what I want to be

A place to be a puppet of yours

Moulding me with force

To be like everyone else

And forget about my true self.

Thank you for reading!
