Make School is always on the hunt for more engineers to become part of our team. Every engineer at Make School works remotely and helps us further our mission of revolutionizing computer science education to make it more accessible, more affordable, more intuitive, and more effective. We’re building the next generation of engineers and our engineering team is crucial to that vision.

Here are five of the top reasons why our current engineers tell us they enjoy working at Make School:

1. Flexibility

Make School engineers work wherever they want. Our team loves the flexibility of setting their own hours and working from home — or from trips around the world!

2. Support

A few times a year, we pay for all of our engineers to fly into San Francisco so we can all get on the same page, learn from one another, and bond. Our small team also encourages professional development by covering conference passes and tech events.

3. Cutting Edge Tech

As a computer science school, it’s vital that Make School stays on top of all the latest tech developments, and that ethos is ingrained in our team, as well. Because a lot of what we’re doing is new — both technically and in terms of our approach to education — we encourage experimentation and creativity across the board.

4. Diversity

A core facet of Make School’s mission is making tech accessible. From our staff to our students, we strive to empower people who haven’t always been represented in the tech industry or in the ranks of higher education.

5. Impact

The people who run Make School believe in the mission of this school. We’re working every day to help young people of every background follow their dreams, work tirelessly toward their goals, and become the tech leaders of tomorrow.

Make School is redesigning college for the 21st century. Our education combines liberal arts, computer science, software development, and character development with a strong emphasis on fully preparing students for successful careers as software engineers, product managers, or entrepreneurs. Make School is funded by Learn Capital, Y Combinator, Mitch Kapor, Alexis Ohanian, Tim Draper and others.
