We remind you that the registration for the Make Your Data Speak 2024 award is now open.
We know it can be difficult to choose a category to enter, so we’ll give you details about each one. Today marks the beginning of unveiling the first of our award categories: Business Dashboards!
What makes this category even more exciting is the flexibility it offers — you can wield any BI tool, including Excel!
This category is also suitable for beginners, so as part of our participation in the Award we will be holding webinars and meetings with tutorials on how to create dashboards!

Don’t be afraid to participate in the competition! If you’re not confident in your abilities but have a desire to acquire new skills and try yourself in our Award, I suggest you take part in a free data visualization and BI internship, which starts this Sunday (February 18)! Details will be at the end of the article.
The path of an Award participant
You have your own dashboard/dataset
You can take your own data and build a dashboard on it, or take a ready-made case and send it to MYDS Award, the dashboard is no more than one year old. Check confidentiality, because your work will be seen by the whole world. And send it to us!
You don’t have your own dashboard/dataset
We’ve prepared datasets across dynamic topics: sales, marketing, HR, finance, and manufacturing. You can choose any of them and build a dashboard based on it. Below, we have described the basic steps to create a dashboard, as well as the timeline/timeline.
1. Dataset unveiling: As a participant, you’ll be presented with a carefully crafted dataset.
2. Transform and illuminate: Your first task is to transform this raw data, extracting the essence and highlighting key indicators.
3. Choose your charts: With the data in hand, the next step is to choose your arsenal of charts wisely.
4. Craft your dashboard: Armed with transformed data and chosen visuals, it’s time to bring your dashboard to life! Build a compelling visualization according to all visualization rules.
5. Send your finished project for evaluation by our jury.

What you can learn in 1 month
Usually, this amount of knowledge and skills takes at least a year. We get results faster because it’s not just learning. There will be no useless theory and long conversations — this is real work “in the field”. With real tasks and requirements:
- working with data that the customer usually has;
- solving business problems using data visualization;
- adding storytelling and presenting your project.
