I was nervous when we first decided that we would do a NYC Make-a-Thon. We had never planned an event remotely, but all those nerves washed away when we met the makers, nonprofits and volunteers that would be part of the 2018 NYC Make-a-Thon.

The talent was through the roof, the compassion and empathy was strong and the relationships that were built were significant. To say ‘thank you’ would not be enough to express our gratitude.

Below are some teaser photos and sample work from the event, but stay tuned for more in the coming weeks. A special thank you to Jessica Harvey for capturing the images below and to Kiersten Williams with Make Beautiful for following us up from Chattanooga to NYC to document this event.

Thanks!

A special thank you to our generous event host, Ceros, for opening up their space to us on Saturday, serving us beer and wine and letting us drink all their cold brew.

Extra thanks to our generous sponsors GitHub, Linode, InVision, Balsamiq, Sticker Mule, Mindsense and Natalligraphy.

Finally, thank you to NYC Service for helping us find some amazing nonprofits to work with.

Stay tuned in the coming weeks as we debut case studies from these projects, a super secret campaign from the event and the NYC Make-a-Thon video.
