Using MakeMySummary with Pocket and Todoist

Pocket — MakeMySummary — Todoist

Pocket is my favorite bookmark keeper. It has a desktop, mobile and web app that integrates well into other apps. Before MakeMySummary I was just pushing items into Pocket directly. I had put in a Zapier zap to make a Todoist task when a new item in Pocket showed up. That way I will know that I have to look at an article at a later time.

Now, with MakeMySummary being available, I still do the same thing as before, no changes in my actions. I still save items to Pocket. But I changed the Zapier Zap to this.

Step 1: Create a new Zap with Pocket to trigger when a new item is available

Step 2: Create an Action Item with MakeMySummary to take in the URL and Title of the article from Pocket

Step 3: Create another Zap with MakeMySummary to trigger when new summaries are available

Step 4: When the above is triggered then make a Todoist task

You can customize how you want your Todoist task to look, this is how I have configured it.

This is how my Todoist looks like now. I can quickly read if I need to dig deeper into any article or not. Lots and lots of time saved. Life more decluttered. Enjoy!
