It was a wonderful and heartwarming journey seeing our creators collaborate with each other, support each other — making sure that all the themes were covered. Below is a recap for the winning creators and collectors:

WHAT IS A TRIPTYCH?
A triptych is a work of art consisting of three panels meant to be displayed together as one piece.
WHY SHOULD I PARTICIPATE?
There are 2 categories of people who will participate for the following reasons:
Participate as a CREATOR to…
• Widen your palette by becoming more aware of the elements, styles and/or colors used by your fellow creators which you will in turn bring into the next piece.
• Create art that is cohesive, continuous and conversational by learning how to connect your fellow creator’s style to yours.
• Open yourself to different subject matters by either continuing a story, or gradually reconstructing a new one.
• Learn how to bring traffic to your storefront.
• Increase engagement on your storefront.
• Increase exposure of your works.
• Increase your portfolio of works.
• Reach artistic goals.
• Learn (Improve technique, try new tools, or a new style or medium, etc.)
• Have fun!
Participate as a COLLECTOR…
• To gain appreciation for Triptych art
• To build your very own art collection.
• To establish a connection with the artist of the works you are collecting from.
• To directly support the artist that you are a fan of.
• To get an understanding of the style of digital art you enjoy.
• Have fun!
HOW DO I PARTICIPATE AS A CREATOR?
Starting Monday, October 21st, MakersPlace will post an announcement of the start of the challenge PLUS a list of themes for you to choose from.
PREPARE:
You’ll have one week for the whole process below — Monday at 8:30am to the next Monday at 8:30am. We will only accept ONE “Triptych Collective” creation from EACH participating creator each week starting at 8:30am on Mondays for 3 weeks.
Your work should be created to either stand alone or to be included within a Triptych. If you want to ensure that your Triptych is complete at the end of 3 weeks, you can plan this out with fellow collaborators ahead of time.
Please note that only complete triptychs will have a chance at winning the MakersPlace bids.
CHOOSE & CREATE:
• Week 1: Choose one theme for the first panel and create a 20" x 34" sized work in portrait orientation based on that theme.
• Week 2: Choose another theme (different from yours) that someone has created a first panel for and create something cohesive to the first panel on the second panel of the same size (20" x 34", Portrait)
• Week 3: Choose a third different theme (different from yours) that someone has created a second panel for. Create something cohesive to the second panel on the third panel (20" x 34", Portrait), finishing off the theme.
*When you create each panel, keep in mind that all 3 panels, in the end, are meant to be displayed together.
**Multiple people can add to one theme.
PUBLISH:
• Publish 5 editions on your MakersPlace store.
• Tag your piece in your storefront with triptychcollectiveThemePanelNumber so it is easy to find the matches here. For example: triptychcollectivethewitchinghour1
• Create a category in your storefront called Triptych Collective.
• You may set a price.
• Let us know in the description what theme you chose so collectors can easily match the panels.
• We highly suggest that you apply your storytelling skills when writing your description.
• Please refrain from including “created for the Triptych Collective” or similar as that can date your work and can decrease its value.
POST:
Post your direct link with BOTH of the following hashtags #triptychcollective AND #makersplaceco…
• on Discord in the #general channel
• and/or on Twitter
PROMOTE:
Spread the word. Talk to your friends and family. Post across your social medias. Find your local group of art lovers. Network with people who collect.
REPEAT: Publish your next work on Monday starting at 8:30AM (PST — California time)
HOW DO I PARTICIPATE AS A COLLECTOR?
FIND:
Go to Discord or Twitter and search the hashtags: #triptychcollective #makersplaceco then click on the direct link to the creator’s storefront.
ENGAGE:
Like, provide a quality comment (e.g what you like about the artwork), and/or buy
BE THE FIRST TO KNOW:
Follow the creators you like. This will ensure that you are the first to know when a new artwork drops.
HOW WILL THE WINNING TRIPTYCH BE CHOSEN AT THE END OF THE 3 WEEKS?
ONE triptych (which includes 3 winners) will be chosen by the MakersPlace team based on the following criteria, and announced some time after all the works have been submitted:
• Has the creator followed ALL the Triptych Collective participation instructions? (See section above, “How Do I Participate As a Creator?”)
• Has the creator demonstrated continuity and cohesiveness to the prior work within the Triptych theme that they’ve chosen?
• When all 3 works are displayed together, is it evident that they are connected (at the discretion of the MakersPlace team) and that they are to be displayed together as one piece?
• The MakersPlace team will also consider Likes, Comments, Description, etc. as they review each submission.
