Mr. Monk x Carlos Marcial Torres — Dropping 6/2 🔥

Mr. Monk is a digital artist from Mexico City, a mecca of art and culture. He’s spent the past ten years as a Creative Director for a Mobile Marketing company, where he created banners, layouts, app interfaces, and led various digital marketing campaigns. His current passion is digital illustration, and his creations are highly influenced by popular culture and the characters within it. Images found in creepy magazines from the 1950s and 60s provide Mr. Monk with a great deal of inspiration.

Carlos Marcial Torres is a Mexican digital artist who grew up in San Juan, Puerto Rico. He is also now based in Mexico City. Raised by an artist and art historian, one could say the arts are in Marcial Torres’ blood. His style can be described as 3D realism with a hint of surrealism. His 3D renders take photo realism to the next level, while never neglecting to incorporate aspects of fantasy, the supernatural, and playfulness.

Silencio

In their first ever collaboration, Carlos Marcial Torres and Mr. Monk artfully blend their distinct styles to portray the contemplative silence of the Mexican desert. Mr. Monk’s powerful illustration of the mythic Quetzalcoatl’s eternal return is amplified through the application of Marcial Torres’ 3D animation techniques. The result being a hypnotic desert scene that brings the viewer feelings of peace and ferocity at the same time.

Gert-Jan Akerboom — Dropping 6/3 🔥

Gert-Jan Akerboom is a digital artist and animator based in Berlin, Germany. The creations of Akerboom take many forms, with the most recent being an expansion of his digital skills through high resolution 3D animation. Every interaction, whether conscious or not, serves as inspiration for Akerboom. Dark and eerie imagery are particularly fascinating to him. He takes pride in a “lack of style”, as he intentionally goes out of his way to create artwork that is unlike anything most viewers have ever seen.

The Radiant Grove

Inspired by a fearful fantasy of getting lost in the forest after dark, The Radiant Grove, takes viewers on an eerie yet exciting journey through a dimly lit grove. Folklore, myth and biological science all served as inspiration and educational components in the making of this artwork.

Angga Tantama x Elephai — Dropping 6/4 🔥

Angga Tantama is a digital illustrator from a peaceful, small town in Java Island, Indonesia. He now resides in the city of Surakarta where he creates illustrations that inspire the same feelings of bliss he experienced growing up in a rural Indonesian town. Vibrant colors, defined lines, and fantastic scenery come together to create illustrations that ignite feelings of joy, delight and light-heartedness.

Boris Trifunovic, also known as Elephai, is a Serbian digital artist and animator. Elephai has always been inspired by animated artworks. He started his animation journey as a video editor and joined an online community of Youtube editors who helped him expand his knowledge and skillset. Today, most of Elephai’s artwork contains some form of 3D rendering. His artistic style spans genres and mediums, but can be generally described as “surrealism meets paranormal science fiction”.

Luna

The first ever collaboration between the two artists, Luna, adds an additional layer of complexity to Tantama’s lively illustration style through the addition of Elephai’s dynamic yet relaxed animation style. Serenity and inner-peace are central themes in this creation, as depicted by the main character who finds solace by resting underneath the moon in a starry night sky. The Ethereum symbol makes a subtle appearance as a symbol of freedom and individualism in this artwork centered around personal solitude.
