Travis-CI, Node.js and hiredis

We’ve recently been migrating all our CI across to Travis CI, one thing that we’ve just encountered was trying to get NAN / node-hiredis compiling. It’s fairly well documented that you need a newer build toolchain, but even following the steps, we still encountered some issues.
