As CrowdEmotion continues it’s quest to make technology have a heart, last night we released a cheeky little update towards this humanistic future.

Introducing BSA — Biometric Signal Analyser

Like most facial coding technologies, we could measure emotions by tracking people’s facial expressions. We know this is interesting, but a face doesn’t tell all. It’s part of a complex system that we simply call body language.

Think of your every day. Now put the world on mute. Now imagine people were only a talking head that had up to 43 movements. That’s how most advanced facial coding technologies see the world. It’s good, yet it’s missing other important biometric inputs.

No tone of voice. No fleeting eyes. No blushing. No hand gestures. Basically, a world boiled down to an emoji.

You wanted more. We listened.

BSA unlocks more key items for our users:

  • Algo(rithm)s are the new apps and BSA is the platform — you want voice, there’s an algo for that. You want eye movement, there’s an algo for that. You want hand gesture, head pose, body position, blushing, heart rate… yep, there’s an algo for that. And if there’s no algo, we’ll find one or write one and put it in.
  • Scale — go big! Like really big. Like 10,000 people at a time big. However big your requirements are, we got it. No problem.
  • Speed — it’s fast. Like really fast. In a digital world, 24 hours is simply too long to wait. You can now skip the queue and process thousands of videos at a time. It will take as long as the longest video. 10,000 videos, 3 minutes long = 3 minutes to process. Bliss!
  • Cost Effective — high quality performance built for scale means you see savings and value. You can start for free and move up to emotional genius as it suits your value needs.

CrowdEmotion works with a world leading academic institution to empower people with technology that is emotionally aware. It’s products and API can read body language from smart devices using cameras, microphones and other sensors.

Today we help users understand more about themselves and help companies like the BBC better connect with their audiences.
