This year has clearly been defined by the ongoing human malware problems, and the tenth edition of the Tuenti Challenge has been no exception to this: we originally planned on delaying the second phase of the contest for some months, just in case we saw an improvement with the pandemic. However, this improvement did not happen and we decided to skip the in-person part of the second phase.

Although we couldn’t host a final phase this year, our engineers still reviewed the solutions from the top eligible participants to select this year’s finalists, based on the correctness of the solution, the chosen algorithm and the code’s quality and cleanliness. After the review, the following participants took this year’s podium:

  1. Alejandro Suárez Hernández
  2. Juan Lao Tebar
  3. Dominique Hunziker

The following participants, in alphabetical order, also placed in the Top 10:

  • Cesc Folch Aldehuelo
  • David Folqué Garcia
  • Diego Villar
  • Guillermo Santamaria
  • Hector Arranz Orejudo
  • Jesús J. Domenech
  • Marcos Fernández

And that’s all for the tenth edition of the Tuenti Challenge! We would like to thank all of this year’s participants for the time and effort spent solving our problems: we had a lot of fun making the problems, and we hope that you had fun too while solving them! Thanks to the enthusiasm of both the participants and our engineers, we have already been organizing the contest for ten straight years!

Thank you very much, and we look forward to seeing you next year!
