Tuenti Challenge 8 team with the finalists at the office

Another year, another edition of the Tuenti Challenge!

This year’s 10 finalists came from different cities to our office in Madrid to spend a day of workshops, interviews and, of course, immersion in Tuenti’s culture to get to know the team, both in the office and outside of it.

The second phase of the contest got underway yesterday in our office with a get-together for the Tuenti team and finalists and, when we could see that the ice had been broken, we showed them what our typical afterwork is like in a relaxed atmosphere.

This morning saw the start of the second phase, which consisted of solving 2 more mini-challenges and attending a series of workshops and interviews with members of our engineering team and recruiters.

Would you like to know what the final problems were about? Due to the need to be solved in a very short time, the problems on the final challenge were not very hard to solve:

● Simple problem based on Snakes and Ladders board game, which can be solved using a BFS algorithm.

● Graph problem based on IPv6, in which an optimal solution can be done by pre-calculating the maximum spanning tree and then visiting all the paths between the resulting nodes.

The participants also attended a talk which summarized what it means to work at Tuenti from an engineering point of view: our culture, our technological stack and the most important challenges we have had to overcome in recent years.

And, finally, it was time to find out this year’s final ranking! The CTO of Tuenti, together with the organizers of this edition, called up the finalists one by one to present them with the corresponding prizes, until they reached the top 3, who finished in the following order:

1st position: Guillem G.

2nd: Iván C.

3rd: Alaa M.

And the rest of the finalists in alphabetical order: Adrià G., David P., Gabriel F., Juan Andrés C., Phuong N., Tim V. and Tran L.

And so concludes another edition of one of our most important events of the year. On behalf of the entire Tuenti Challenge team, we want to send out a huge thank you to all participants. This was an incredible experience, you blew away all our expectations!

See you next year with more challenges in Tuenti Challenge 9. As you know, in the meantime, you can keep practicing here ;)
