This morning, Malala and Muzoon stood up in front of global leaders at the Supporting Syria and the Region conference in London and urged donors commit $1.4 billion USD to support the education of the millions of Syrian children who have been kept from school as a result of conflict.

Education is the key to rebuilding a stronger, better Syria. Like children all over the world, the children of Syria are ambitious, creative and eager to learn. But in order to become the doctors, artists, engineers, pilots or teachers that Syria needs, these children must be given access to education. While others may fear that the children of Syria will become a “lost generation,” we are hopeful for their future. They are #notlost — not if we act right now. Today Malala and Muzoon called on the world to ACT on their behalf.

Together Malala and Muzoon once again proved how powerful young voices truly are. Check out and share some of our favourite quotes from their speeches.

Missed their standout speeches this morning? Watch it here.

How much longer must the children of Syrian wait until their right to an education is restored?

Over the next few days, we will wait as governments and donors make decisions on how much funding they will commit toward ensuring education for these children. Now is the time to speak up. Sign our petition — our voices will be even more powerful together!
