Sure — I’m Onat — based between Turkey and Thailand. I’ve spent the last 5 years or so in Singapore doing my PhD on digital platforms and being fully immersed in the crypto space in one way or the other. Metaverse is my new main interest hence we founded Landindex with my co-founders Mert and Jen.
They’re also both crypto-native ppl with a strong presence in the NFT space overall.

Let´s start our AMA with two simple questions so our comunity can understand better what´s all about when we refer to LandIndex from now on:
What is LandIndex? Can you explain us a bit about your company and the purpose behind your product?

Landindex is essentially a data aggregator for the metaverse. It provides features that enable its users to navigate, compare and plan around $LAND prices across many metaverses on Ethereum. Landindex provides the resources on the internet right now to see all $LAND prices (most importantly Decentraland and Sandbox) together ++ Otherside deeds we also cover in detail:

We actually have another website launching within our platform soon, it’ll be a creator platform similar to Fiverr, so the structure will expand into two main parts:
- Landindex: The tool for navigating and compares all metaverse parcel data in unprecedented detail.
- Landex: Finding creators in the metaverse is the next decade’s technology investment play. Metaverse NFTs on Ethereum are growing at a rapid pace, and landindex.io assists its users in navigating the growing space.
Land(index) refers to indexing data and Land(Ex) refers to the exchanges we’ll faciliate between metaverse participants.
Currently it’s a very ad hoc and imperfect process to find builders and artists to hire on the metaverse. We hope to streamline this.
We are also launching an education course for corporates who are interested in learning about the metaverse so stay tuned on that too.

We are an international team based across Turkey, Thailand and the USA. We have pretty prominent board members who are our early investors from the Ethereum ecosystem. Me and Mert are doing most the strategic planning and operational organisation — we have 3 back end developers and now hiring a new front end developer (let us know if interested!)

So we’re 7 ppl working full time on this once the new front end developer joins us. We also have 7 board members with experience in the NFT space who’ve been helpful in many ways.

Agree. we were 12 ppl at one point actually (including part-timers) as we built out the current live version. Now we’re becoming leaner and more efficient as the product has found its final form. Looking to expand the team once again once the Landex and education sections are fully out.

Talking about NFTs now….
LandIndex, as many other companies out there linked somehow to crypto arena, is entering the NFT space by releasing a Genesis NFT collection which will make possible for people to hold one of your NFTs and become a PRO+ subscriber.
Could you explain in few words why choosing the NFT technology to achieve this?

A few reasons:
- It is transferable to other wallets of your self (wgmi.io’s access key style, it’s a website I personally use to track my portfolio value, much recommended as a year-long member) > Total value accrual to user as it is true ownership of a key instead of a simple login
- It also enables us not to deal with the operational mess that comes with traditional e-commerce.
In a sense, it’s the best practice in the industry right now so we plan to accomplish a wide user base that is happy to hold this NFT for a long time.

Very true! As our Community members already know, LandIndex is not the only partner we have brought to our AMA sessions using the NFT tech to grant people PRO access to their products and services…Maybe not today but in the future this could become the standard for authentication services and even for login flows…

Yeah. it’s just an overall better experience, as other ppl can see your membership too. Our education platform will also use this technology, as we’ll mint the certificates of completion for it as POAPs to be minted in the Decentraland.

Can you tell us more about your Genesis collection? Do you plan to release further NFTs collections in the future that will be functional to your current products or other products you may build?

We are releasing the NFT as “Pro+”. We are providing access to our most important data systems and content. Different collections may be released in the future, of course, why not?

Your company defines itself as “a Metaverse Data Aggregation & Analytics tool…to understand the value of the land at Metaverse.” So this bring the unavoidable question that follows:
Why only focusing in data from the Metaverse lands? Why not analyzing data from other sources as well?

The reason why we focused only on Metaverse data was that we wanted to create a specific tool in the field we are experts in. When you come to the restaurant, we do not offer both fish, kebab and dried beans 😄 We offer the only dish we know best, and we plan to do it at top industry standards.

We’re both early stage startups in the metaverse and so far, everything has went very smoothly with the good ppl at Mallconomy. They have a great team and media presence, we are confident that it will be beneficial for both sides as we launch our products into the hands of thousands of users. We both want to expand and improve the metaverse experience for the average participant.

My main question is how the idea of creating LandIndex was born, how long has it been operating? Furthermore, Landindex has launched its own Genesis NFT collection, which grants holders special benefits. Can you explain us a little more about this release, prices, utilities, markets, and how they relate to web3? Finally, I would like to know if it is in your plans to launch a native token? Thank you very much!

We don’t plan to launch a native token, we’ll be launching NFTs as access keys instead. We’re not planning to have any kind of defi product, for now at least.

What would be your suggestion to the Metaverse builders after all the data you studied so far?

We suggest them to not re-create the real world there but use the freedom that comes with the metaverse space. Think more originally, push the boundaries of design.
A lot of ppl just recreate office-building looking voxels… why not be a bit more creative with new designs. Think of events that can only be done in the Metaverse…
Our revenue streams will be from NFT sales, extra perks on the creator platform, extra education programs/advisory, advertisements on our platforms from relevant participants. Various ways!
