Feeding The 8 Month Old

If you have questions about how to tame your baby who has started on solid foods, all too reluctantly, and won’t eat what you’re offering… I have no clue. Don’t have any opinion on that issue.
I’m lucky with a girl who eats everything. Her mouth opens wide at the sight of a spoonful of broccoli, spinach, oatmeal, fruit, meat — you name it.
I’m probably bragging. I wanted to touch upon different experiences of living with a baby, addressing her different needs. I realize that I’ve been thinking about parenting as something that requires a constant fight. Not with your child, but inside yourself. Finding the right approach to everything. Struggling with your immediate responses and instead doing what’s right in the long term. Constructive collaboration with the child, explaining, noticing, challenging. Well, turns out, not everything is a problem, not everything needs to be dealt with. In our case, we got the kid who, at least for now, is a good eater.
Gradually, I think I’m easing into the parent role. Relaxed parenting, just the concept to practice and to preach.
