Laura S. 47 “I’m voting for Hillary. I’m a liberal and I think she embodies those beliefs and values, especially on women rights, children rights, healthcare and equality. I don’t like Trump but he became the Republican nominee because the Republican Party wanted him. He represents a schism in our government. He reflects the division our country so I don’t think he’s the ‘bad guy.’ The issues Trump is bringing up do need to be addressed so that we can become a united nation.” — Max Templer

Jeremy E. 29 “I don’t really support either candidate. I guess I’m gonna vote for Clinton. I really liked Obama and I wish he could run for another term. What I want from a president is someone who cares about the country. I think Clinton only cares about being president, not about the country. I also think her views change rapidly from right to left. Trump is an asshole. I don’t think he gives a shit about anything. He is misogynistic, he is racist and he doesn’t seem to understand America. If there were a Clinton presidency I don’t think there would be a major issue, however I think a Trump presidency would. I don’t think there would be one major thing, I just think he would create many small dumb things that add up to crate a major issue.” — Max Templer

Phoenixville PA: Joe K. 48: “I’m fearful for our kids future, Hillary is always talking about the kids so I’m hoping that she will stick to that. Trump on the other hand is a man. He thinks differently. He would rather go to war than help the children. I don’t think he’ll look out for our children.” — Will Fishell

“Trump is not a gentleman…he is not a gentleman nor a scholar nor a statesmen.” -Pat, a local dog walker, on Trump’s lack of political correctness. — Stephanie Philo

How has the media shaped this election? “Oh, I think without the media Trump wouldn’t be nearly as popular as he is. Definitely he says a lot of things that get a lot of media and then people start to pay more attention to him and then it’s sort of a spiral, at least in my opinion.” -Katie, 19, Swarthmore College Student (EE) #mamk_prez16 #mhspeopleofpa

How has the media shaped this election? “Well, the media created Donald Trump in the primaries. They regret it, and you can see they heavily regret it.” -Paris, 16, Phoenixville, PA Resident (EE)

“I think a lot of people feel that Hillary’s pretty much just gonna follow in the same footsteps Obama has taken, and Trump is just completely way out there, different, and I think that’s probably where a lot of the issues lie. Trump sometimes speaks without thinking, and a lot of the supporters are probably about the same as him. She’s more, like I said, laid-back, more ‘follow the same path,’ and I think a lot of the Trump supporters are really tired of that path. That’s what I think it is.” — Bill, 48

“Well, [Hillary Clinton] cares about diversity. I mean she’s not exclusive, much more open than the other candidate, but at the same token, like all politicians, I think she is over-promising. And in fact, there’s little that politicians can do to turn back the clock. There’s a lot of adjustments that have to be made and I worry that in general her and any politician promise people more than can be delivered and people hence get cynical about politics. But at balance, she’s much preferred to the other candidate who’s more part of what I would call white identity politics” — Keith Sill, a local dog walker, talking about how he thinks his candidate will make America great — Annabel Shein

“I think the people and the diversity and the fact that everyone has come from all over the world and we welcome everybody, and we give everybody a chance to have a business, to get an education, to own property, to build a family and build a life.” — Mia Moretti, a volunteer for the Clinton campaign, talking about what she thinks makes America great — Annabel Shien

“Fox is bias towards Trump obviously. CNN is probably a little bias towards Hillary, maybe… maybe 6 out of 10. If your asking me Trump is so reprehensible, he’s a monster and 9 out of 10 rational people would be against him. You can tell everyone I fucking hate Trump!”
-Ken G. — Sam Popoli

“They’re bias towards Trump because of the amount of free media attention they give him, and they are bias towards Hillary Clinton because they favor her to win”
-Kevin A. — Sam Popoli

Do you think that people will react differently with a woman in the White House? “I think some people would. I am from West Virginia and I feel people wouldn’t be very cautious about a woman in the White House, but most [people in] my state are very vocal Trump supporters. So I feel it all depends on where you were raised.” -Collin, 19, Swarthmore College Student — Molly Noddiff
