The stories from a heroes journey that you might not always hear about. Stories about facing your fears and battles that don’t involve cold nights in the jungle eating snakes and bugs for TV, but involve inspiring or saving others.

Welcome to Man Vs. Earth! I’m glad you are here. This is a place to discuss and learn about our battles, our fears, and our challenges, no matter how big and small they are. It an also be a place to discuss more light-hearted topics, like how to win a pickle sliding contest, how the hell my dog swiped bacon off of a hot frying pan, or if we can ever expect Eric Andre to get his own major network late night show, or real comedy to return.

This is a place to explore serious topics, like diving deep into different philosophies, theories of psychology, and asking ourselves why we react in certain ways to difficult situations. Why do we fear certain things, and why are we never totally sure if Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson is really human? Is Donald Trump even human? Is David Goggins even human? Certainly Travis Pastrana is not human. I mean, Earth is like 75% water, 25% land, and 0% air. So, how does anyone survive when they are flying in the air? So, yeah, hopefully we’ll cover plenty of lighter topics, such as great, modern music, who the next wave of late-night television hosts will be, what cool technology is taking over, and how the hell Bert Kreischer is still married after his new Netflix special! Haha!

But, you can’t hide from the fact that everyone loves a good heroes story. I won’t deny that for myself, either. But, not every one of them has the outcome you might expect. Or, not every one of them has the beginnings you suspected. They had even greater hardships, or even greater odds to overcome than you and I could ever imagine. Or, maybe we could, which makes these stories all the more relatable.

I hope with Man vs. Earth to uncover some of those under-the-radar stories, and even over-the-radar but totally told wrong stories, or to reshape how we think about the stories of some of the heroes we have known and seen in our days. I also hope to get into various topics that I feel can add to better our own livelihoods. Not everyone has to be a world class athlete, break a Guinness world record, or overcome odds so great to inspire a movie about your life. And, those stories are awesome, too. What is great are any of the stories that make us feel we could aspire to do more, to chase our dreams, to help us inspire friends to do better or more meaningful things, and especially our own stories and actions that help shape and inspire our children to find and fulfill their purpose for living.

Do you have a story to share about a hero, or someone who inspired you to stretch your limits? Do you have a hero in your life who might not otherwise have their story told by CNN, ESPN, or your local news? Please reach out to me to have your story profiled on the Man Vs. Earth page. Every hero deserves a chance to have their story be told.
