Hello from Manabie,

As an Edtech, Technology and Education are in our DNA. We always think, in order to make our Learners the catalysts for positive change to the world, we must be the catalysts by ourselves first, then channel it to our Learners.

Lately, we just have had some activities to make our life at Manabie more interesting.

#1. The 1st Mana Class:

We are living in a World where Data means everything. In order to create the best Product for our learners, we are always eager to get to know more insight from our user’s experience. But how did we do it? The answer is by mastering the art of SQL and Redash.

Our Tech Team just took initiative to conduct the first Mana Class ever, where we Manabians learn the basics of SQL, and how to write simple queries to extract the needed data to help in making business decisions.

After all, “Without Data, you are just another person with an opinion” — W. Edward Deming

# 2. Old Stuff Exchange

Did you know, your old stuff, such as plastic, paper, clothes and electronic waste could play a (tiny) role in climate change and affect the health of nature? And moreover, your old stuff could bring a whole new experience for others.

As players in the Education Technology industry, we demonstrate ourselves as a role model of how we want to lead our young learners to be. Being mindful and responsible for nature is one of them. Therefore, just before Lunar New Year, we had an Old Stuff Exchange day, in which we exchange not just the stuff, but the good moments and the awareness of nature as well.

#3. Our dedicated Learner:

This is an amazing story that inspires us all, as Manabie staff, and fuels our motivation to work harder, to bring more to our learners.

It was several days ago when our team got in to check on how our new group of Saigon Children’s Charity (“SCC”)’s students were doing. It took us all by surprise that there was one student who completed 66 lessons, with a total learning time of 17 hours. At first, the whole team assumed that there must be an error with our tracking. Our Customer Service team decided to contact and come to visit our learner to help her if there was any issue with the app.

Thanks to that, we have a moving story from a hard-working and super strong-willed student. Our girl lives in a small room of about 15m2 with her mother and she loves studying, especially English and Math. She usually spends 2 hours per day using the Manabie app for studying.

Thanks to the scholarship from Saigon Children’s Charity (“SCC”), Phuong is able to learn English and Math in a fun and engaging way with Manabie’s learning app! Thanks to the highly engaging videos that deliver lessons with catchy songs and funny animations, Phuong has been so motivated to study, and she has been learning non-stop (quite literally!) for 2 weeks on the app, and has seen her academic performance quickly developing.

We believe the scholarship of SCC will bear much fruit. Phuong is determined to grow up to be a changemaker in her community and fulfill her dreams of buying a bigger house for her family.

As Manabians, we are heartened to hear Phuong’s story, and we hope that we can continue to catalyse positive change for more learners, as well as for society and nature.
