6 Signs You’re a Better Leader Than You Think

Imposter syndrome is a gift.

Most see it as a sign of insecurity, and struggle to handle the negativity and doubt it can inspire. But I see it differently.

Within this seemingly negative thing is a powerful positive: the desire to reach a high standard.

It’s about wanting to justify your title with your actions and your results. To feel in your bones that you’re a leader, that you own the title and position, not that it was some lucky break or accident.

And in the day-to-day comings and goings of leadership, it can be hard to find wins. Chances are you don’t go home everyday feeling like the champ. There’s only so much satisfaction one can get from appraisals and spreadsheets.

Without this sweet nectar of reassurance and job satisfaction, we may even start to wonder if we’re even doing a good job. We might fantasise about how much better someone else might do than us. And in those moments, we might even questions if management really is for us after all.
