Engwall et al. (2021) highlight the importance for companies to innovate their business models to achieve sustainable transitions, and an effective way to accomplish that is through the introduction of interorganizational collaboration and network level experimentation.
In addition, they need to avoid adopting inflexible technologies that will raise cost issues and won’t favor collaboration, and they also must introduce the appropriate measurement policies to evaluate their transition roadmap according to specific Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) that will regularly be re-evaluated.
