Everyone wants to be the next big thing… The next Facebook, Uber, Instagram, snapchat, etc. Don’t get me wrong, i’m all for shooting for the stars and chasing your dreams, but there is a lack of practicality and doing what it takes to get there!

I have been a business owner and entrepreneur now for 11 years, and i’m just shy of 32. When I started, the word entrepreneur was another word for loser. Things have definitely changed, now almost everyone wants to be an entrepreneur.

The problem is, that people only see what’s on the surface after someone has made it, and not what it took for them to get there. Have you ever heard the saying, “It takes 10 years to be an over night success.” That couldn’t be more true. After 11 years of building businesses, I can tell you it takes hard work, focus, dedication and most of all patience to build a solid business.

The millennial's coming up, want it all right now! This false perception of getting rich and famous over night is killing peoples drive and ego because they cant figure out how to get it done and actually end up waisting more time, and never end up building anything at all because they were too busy chasing their dream and not any time building it!

You could take a practical approach, by having some self awareness, figuring out who you are, what you like and how you can add value to peoples lives. I guarantee you will have a solid foundation that allows you the opportunity build bigger and better things off it. Trust me, It won’t happen over night, unless you’re lucky enough to hit the lottery. However, if you put your nose down and work hard, it will happen.
