Sup nerds,

It’s week two on the job, and this time it’s all about traveling, reading, and connecting dots. From company plans to product evolution, we’re navigating the sea of information and making sense of everything.

The Highlights:

  • 🧭 Seattle, here we came! I traveled to Seattle, providing valuable face time with the founders. It was a rich exchange of ideas, aligning goals, and setting expectations.
  • 👥 We welcomed Vivian to our team — an experienced Executive Business Partner. She’s ready to help set the cadence, streamline operations, and establish expectations in our early days.
  • 🛠 Team progress is in full swing! We’re organizing and driving down a backlog of tasks. Seeing the team come together and tackle these challenges head-on is satisfying.

Deep Dive:

Seattle was illuminating. As we dived deep into the product plans, customer base, and decisions, the aim was clear: to achieve alignment. However, a realization struck: while we’re swift at delivering what we have, we stumble with more significant, complex projects. Acknowledging this is the first step to addressing it effectively.

Lessons Learned:

  • 📚 We love our reading sessions. But the next challenge lies ahead: how do we translate that extensive knowledge into actionable, supportable strategies?
  • ⌛ Our team excels at short-term planning, but there’s room for improvement in mid to long-term planning. It’s a valuable insight we’ve gained this week.
  • 💪 The team has shown great spirit in tackling customer ‘papercuts’ and system clean-up. This deliverance of progress is a testament to their commitment.

Looking Forward:

  • 🤝 Next week is all about meetings. I’ll be connecting with leaders in marketing, customer success, and sales. The mission is to understand their perspectives, goals, and needs and to align them with ours.
  • 🗺 Roadmaps are on my horizon. They will help pave the path for our tech goals and provide a clear direction.

That’s a wrap for week two! Filled with insights and challenges, the journey has been enlightening. I look forward to your thoughts and ideas. Until next time, here’s to challenging the status quo and pushing boundaries!
