More connections, building roadmaps, and AWS fun.

Sup, chaos nerds! Welcome to the third week of our journey through the complex maze of “Managing the Chaos.” This week was a beautiful tapestry of relationship building, roadmap designing, unexpected challenges (hello, AWS US East outage), and the power of written communication.

Highlights

🤝 The Power of Connection: I was fortunate enough to converse deeply with leaders from different departments. Cross-collaboration is the secret sauce to aligning our collective vision and purpose.

🚀 Drawing the Roadmap: The week was also about initiating drafts for tech leadership and product delivery acceleration roadmaps. Change might be hard, but standing still is not an option.

🔧 Resilience in the Face of Adversity: Our team displayed incredible resilience when AWS US East took an unexpected break.

📖 Building Communication Bridges: I published the first edition of “Treble Tech - in Review,” my regular internal team newsletter. Like a bridge, clear communication connects us all in our shared mission.

Deep Dive

This week was all about meeting a few members of my first team, the leaders from Customer Success, Marketing, and Sales. The first team isn’t about the people you directly manage but about the peers you work together with to drive the mission forward.

These leaders bring their own flavor to the mix, and it’s been enlightening to see how our roles intertwine and how I can best support them so they can, in turn, support our customers.

One clear takeaway from these chats was how crucial it is for us to get better at sharing our product strategy. Our founders are heavy-duty readers, but we can’t expect everyone to absorb information at that pace. The answer? Better communication. We need to break down complex strategic ideas and context into bite-sized pieces, making it easier for everyone to get on the same page. I’ll partner with Sebastián, Daniel, and Felipe, to make this happen.

Meeting with Vane, Gonzalo & Darragh in Medellín was ablast, and it’s exciting to see us start to align our efforts and work toward our shared mission. We’re just starting, and I can’t wait to see how we shape our future together.

Lessons Learned

📚 The Pace of Change: Feedback about moving too fast was eye-opening. I learned that pacing ourselves, myself especially, is critical. Still, everyone wants change until change comes knocking on their door.

🎯 Strategic Clarity: Clear communication about the direction we’re taking is something we can work on. It’s important to make the implicit explicit and ensure everyone understands our shared direction and why we arrived at it.

💼 Product Management Gap: We have identified a significant gap in Product Management. Customer needs should be addressed through effective products and not through make-do processes. Our team must grow into this role.

Looking Forward

🧭 Continuing the Journey: We’ll keep moving forward, building on our roadmaps for tech leadership and product delivery acceleration. I shared some drafts with the team this week.

🚁 Channeling Feedback: Providing support to our customer-facing teams and optimizing the feedback channel will be a focal point in the coming weeks and months.

That’s week three wrapped up! I’m always eager to hear your thoughts as we navigate these waters together. Until our next chapter in managing chaos!
