Vaccinations Continue

Tom Bennet Park is currently serving as a COVID-19 vaccination site. The efficient process has vaccine recipients check in for their appointment and move through the line to receive the vaccine from the comfort of their car. Vaccinations will continue through the next few months.

Feb. 9 County Commission Meeting

At our commission meeting on February 9, 2021 we got to meet our spring Results First interns. We’re so excited to see the outcomes of their internship projects!

Our commissioners also presented the Employee of the Month award to Jeffery Bowman. As Code Enforcement Chief, Jeff oversees daily activities of the Code Enforcement Division and provides excellent customer service.

Commissioner Reggie Bellamy also presented a proclamation dedicating February as Black History Month.

February Seashore Shell Walk

Attendees of the Seashore Shell Walk collect shells and ask questions about the shells they find.

Every month, Manatee County Parks & Natural Resources hosts a Seashore Shell Walk. This unique event gives residents the opportunity to learn more in-depth information about shells. If you missed out in February you can visit the Parks & Natural Resources Event Page for future dates/times.

Feb. 23 County Commission Meeting

Search & Rescue presented to the County Commissioners at the February 23rd meeting. They brought a special pup along, named Karma.

Former County Commissioner Priscilla Trace was also at the meeting with the Parrish Civic Association, accepting the proclamation designating March 6 as Parrish Heritage Day.

Commissioners presented a proclamation designating March 3 as Wildlife Inc. Day. Wildlife Inc. is Manatee County’s only licensed native bird, mammal, and reptile wildlife rehabilitation facility.

The Board of County Commissioners also recognized the severity of eating disorders by recognizing February 22–28 as National Eating Disorder Awareness Week.
