MANCHESTER DIVIDED: POLITICAL GEOGRAPHY

Photo set by Jason Pramas

BINJ’s Jason Pramas walked around downtown Manchester, NH late Thursday afternoon, and found that the Presidential primaries have a peculiar geography. While the campaigning is hard to miss on the city’s main drag — Elm St. — just a few blocks away from the relative excitement, in the city’s working class neighborhoods, there’s virtually no sign of political activity at all. Plenty of signs of poverty and alienation, though. And of the people who will be most strongly affected by the vicious policies backed by most of the candidates stumping around the state until next Tuesday. Manchester is quite literally divided.
