Roasted Coffee Lounge, Silverdale Road SK8

Plate temperature: Arctic

Just up the road from the Jewish school is this bookish cafe with wifi and sufficient proper tables for a couple of hours’ work. The weekly special on the board is Pork Stroganoff, a variant that may not be universally popular with the school run crowd.

The veggie brekkie is beanless so we’re down for two. Toast is thick and very hard. Decent mushers. Veggie sausages are always a big ask and just about pass muster. Poached eggs are good but Tippy incorrectly prefers them to The Board’s in Cheadle Hulme. The supremacy of The Board is a theme to which we shall often return on this blog, but more of that another day.

Four lattes all hot, generous and arty, total £22.
