Does getting dressed for work feel like it’s becoming more complicated? It’s not just you.

Workplaces are adopting more flexible dress-codes aimed at making you feel more comfortable at work. But does feeling like you have a mediocre sense of style really feel comfortable when you’re in a meeting with your well dressed “cool” colleagues?

The truth is that dressing casual is more complicated than wearing the same rotation of suits and ties everyday. Your options are more vast and require a deeper knowledge of how to match colours patterns, fabrics and to keep on top of quickly changing trends.

Trends change all the time, and what’s worse than making an investment in a garment that becomes out of style before you even break it in? Owning the casual look is hard, but it can set you apart in 2019.

I get it, you’re busy. It takes a lot of work to stay on top of fashion. Being a man that dresses with good taste does come with it’s benefits, and Mannr wants to help play a role in helping you achieve your best self.

Mannr’s Modern Male Fashion article series is written in conjunction with our experienced professional stylists who will pick a common basic item that most men have and show you 3 different ways that you can style it. The goal is to spark some inspiration and help you own the casual look as soon as tomorrow.

Blue Jeans

The Blue Jeans are a staple of any man’s causal wardrobe. There are so many ways to wear them, and most guys wear them the same way. Valeriya, a professional stylist at Mannr, has put together 3 looks and shared some notes that will hopefully inspire you to think differently about what’s possible with your blue jeans.

Outfit #1: The Sporty Look

“Blue jeans can become a perfect part of any style. Here we are incorporating the slim-fit denims into a sporty look: minimal sneakers and wool sweater on top add volume and create a contrast of the overall silhouette. Polish this look with an iconic Ray-Ban eyewear choice to give it a raffish appeal.”

Outfit #2: The Elevated Casual Look

“Elevated casual look. The faded effect on the jeans isn’t too heavy-handed, so they’re smart enough to wear out to lunch or in the evening. Linen blazer has a naturally creased texture, meaning it won’t require pressing — great if you’re in a rush or intend on wearing it to commute. Replace the roll neck sweater with any lightweight polo shirt for warmer season.”

Outfit #3: The Formal Look

“Dandy approach towards denim. Combined with a tailored light-blue shirt and a vest on top, jeans gain formality that’s just as appropriate in the boardroom as it is on a smart date.”
