TL;DR

The Composable Foundation is incredibly pleased to introduce MANTIS: Multi-chain Agnostic Normalized Trust-minimized Intent Settlement.

Unleash the power of Solana’s first restaked L2. Native yield meets chain-abstracted orderflow.

Mantis core features:

  • A first-of-its-kind rollup (L2) on Solana, housing the Mantis protocol.
  • Native yield meets synchronous composability, enabling chain-abstracted orderflow.
  • The Picasso Network’s Restaking Layer, securing the Mantis Rollup.
  • The Inter-Blockchain Communication (IBC) Protocol, facilitating cross-chain interoperability.

Through these tools, we enable cross-chain intent expression and execution. Mantis will be the most comprehensive way to experience DeFi, facilitating seamless complexity-abstracted interactions on-chain.

The Mantis Vision & Mission

Mantis aims to offer a solution that achieves the vision of non-custodial mass adoption for the next phase of crypto, playing a pivotal role in onboarding the next billion users. The application layer provides a chain-abstracted environment, relieving end-users from the complexities of multiple bridges and dApps between chains.

This approach allows us to serve the true needs and wants of users by facilitating the most seamless and comprehensive DeFi experience ever. We are building the foundation for a cross-chain world where users do not need to know which chain they are on, and interactions are all intent-based. On Mantis, we envision an ecosystem where interoperability and seamless user experience are core principles, not afterthoughts.

Anything you imagine possible is real on Mantis.

How does Mantis achieve this?

The Mantis rollup houses the Mantis protocol and serves as a coordination and settlement layer for cross-domain intents and order flow processing. The Mantis protocol enables optimal execution of cross-domain intents via a competition of solvers. Here, users submit intents, and staked solvers compete to provide optimal solutions to these intents. The Mantis protocol then ranks the solutions, and the winning solver must settle the intent along the solution route they proposed.

Picasso, the Restaking Layer, & the IBC

Picasso leverages the IBC to connect more ecosystems than the Cosmos Hub and Cosmos SDK chains it originally linked. IBC now also interoperates with Polkadot and Kusama parachains, Ethereum, and Solana, with more connections planned for the future. Thanks to Picasso and IBC, Mantis is cross-chain capable with all of these IBC-enabled chains.

Picasso also has the capacity for restaking via its Generalized Restaking Layer. This layer allows the staking of both native tokens and liquid staking tokens (LSTs) from various blockchain ecosystems. This restaking results in crypto-economic security, which can be leveraged by various protocols and networks (called Actively Validated Services, or AVSes). The Mantis rollup is an AVS utilizing Picasso’s Restaking Layer for proof-of-stake validation, ensuring the rollup is secured and is the second AVS.

The Power of Mantis:

Compared to existing solutions in the cross-domain and intent spaces, Mantis is:

  • User-Friendly: It provides an intuitive interface of intents where users can specify their desired outcome for a cryptocurrency transaction in simple terms.
  • Streamlined: It abstracts away the complexities of cross-domain communication.
  • Secure: It secures user funds via a permissionless network of solvers to provide a stake before handling these funds, while removing reliance upon any centralized entity which can negatively influence users’ goals.
  • Optimized: Solvers provide users with optimal solution routes to their intents, whenever possible using cross-domain Coincidence of Wants (CoW) matching to further maximize users’ returns by eliminating fees otherwise needed to meet users’ goals.
  • Incentivized: It offers democratized revenue sharing for its participants such as block producers, validators, searchers, and relayers. These players are incentivized via competition to perform their roles to the best of their abilities.

Benefits for Users:

Through using Mantis, we help you execute anywhere and earn more.

  • Users can earn more yield from our restaking layer and native staking.
  • Users can facilitate transactions from any IBC-enabled chain.
  • Projects and developers can use synchronous composability to unlock new forms of value creation and extraction.
  • Transactions can be executed using the most capital-efficient routes provided by our network of solvers and cutting-edge cross-chain maximal extractable value (MEV) research.

Future Features

Many advanced features are planned for Mantis in the future, such as cross-domain auctions and combinatorial pre-confirmations for synchronous composability.

In collaboration with leading universities like Harvard, University of Lisbon, University of Virginia, and Brown, Mantis is exploring the boundaries of cross-domain MEV.

Mantis Ecosystem:

As we begin to formalize the rollout of Mantis, we have started integrations with an array of different projects that benefit from our optimized orderflow and chain-abstracted interactions. Stay tuned for more updates!
