The Mapgears Real-time Location Intelligence Platform is a sophisticated web application that allows users to drag and drop GIS files (imported from anywhere in a multitude of formats) which immediately populate a base mapping layer. It transforms, what would otherwise be a static mapping environment, into a dynamic, easily customizable web mapping application that will give you results on the go without the need of a developer.

Our new release will have many new features that will help our admin user to publish better web application to their users.

Move data source filter inside layer tree

We added a pretty cool feature, that will be quite helpful to a lot our web app designers. You now have the ability to move the Data sources filters inside our new enhanced layer tree. This will allow you to avoid showing the complete databrowser windows, that most of the time have too much information in it, to access the data source filters menu. From a UX perspective, it is a major enhancement.

You will find an option to activate this feature in the Application Editor. After having select your map, select JSON Config set to true “enable_grouping” option and activate other data source filters (spatial and/or field).

Data source browser switcher

The data source browser switcher finally landed! This will help to minimize the number of web apps needed to browse your data. You now have the ability to switch databrowser data source from one layer to another. Once the option is activated, you will have a new icon in the layers (in the layer tree) to activate the databrowse of the layer and also, the databrowser title will be transformed into a selectable drop list option.

To activate this new feature, in the Application Editor, activate Data source browser switcher in the Basic Config tab than click on JSON Config tab, find layer_tree item, set enable_grouping and enable_data_source_browser_icon to true. Note that to be browsable, layers need to have a Form with browsable option set to true

WMS Layer browser

The WMS Layer browser allows users the ability to select the layer they want to see when they need it. It’s usual to find tons of layers in WMS services. To avoid having too much information on your maps coming from remote services, use this new option available in the Application Editor.
