In a step toward building a more robust and interoperable Web3 ecosystem, MAP Protocol, the leading interoperable omnichain infrastructure, has joined forces with Babylon, a proof-of-stake (PoS) blockchain that consists of Bitcoin timestamping and Bitcoin staking.

Bitcoin’s PoW remains the gold standard in blockchain security, offering unparalleled resistance to censorship and attacks. Babylon, with its deep expertise in scaling Bitcoin’s security for decentralized systems, will work closely with MAP Protocol to integrate this high-level security. This collaboration paves the way for greater robustness and resilience within Map Protocol’s network, rendering it even more appealing to both dApp developers and users.

One of the major challenges facing the blockchain industry is the lack of seamless interoperability between different networks. MAP Protocol, which operates on a peer-to-peer, trustless foundation using its light client and Zero-Knowledge (ZK) technology, is uniquely poised to solve this issue. Through this strategic alliance, Babylon will explore MAP Protocol’s innovative ZK-enabled light-client cross-chain services. This will allow Babylon to link with Ethereum (ETH), Matic, Klaytn, NEAR, and other EVM and non-EVM tokens in a truly peer-to-peer, trustless manner.

Both MAP Protocol and Babylon share a visionary approach to the future of decentralized systems. By combining Babylon’s focus on utilizing Bitcoin’s multifaceted security features with MAP Protocol’s advanced interoperability solutions, this partnership is paving the way for a more secure and connected Web3 ecosystem.

Babylon Overview

Babylon is a project that designs security protocols for the decentralized world. Babylon’s origins come from a research paper about Bitcoin security co-authored by the co-founder of Babylon, David Tse, a professor at Stanford and Ethereum 2.0 researcher, and the founder of EigenLayer Sreeram Kannan, and their colleagues. The project is led by a team of consensus protocol researchers from Stanford and experienced layer 1 engineers from around the world.

Babylon’s mission is to scale Bitcoin to secure the decentralized world through three innovative security-sharing protocols: Bitcoin Staking Protocol, Bitcoin Timestamping Protocol, and Bitcoin Data Availability Protocol. Through these pioneering protocols, Babylon envisions a more secure and decentralized future.
