It is becoming a much different world, and if you want your brand to keep up with all the changes, you have to find ways to attract the Millennials. They are the up and comers, the ones making the big purchases, and the ones influencing everyone else.

Millennials make up almost a quarter of the United States’ Population (Nielsen). So, if you can get the Millennial generation on board, you are well on your way to success with your brand. But, how do you attract them, get them to look your way, and take an interest in what you have to offer? Read on for some helpful tips.

Acknowledge Attention Span

One thing we need to keep in mind about Millennials is that they have a short attention span. Being flooded with information 24/7, it’s just that they can’t focus on many different things at one time.

You can use this to your advantage by catching their eye and their attention with a video ad that is short and to the point and contains an element of surprise. Don’t bore them with facts and be sure to add a message somewhere about how your brand can improve their lives.

Be Kind To Mother Earth

Another thing to keep in mind is that Millennials are very sensitive of environmental issues. By being earth friendly with your brand, you will attract more people interested in what you have to offer. Print your product packaging, ads or business cards on recycled paper. Give a part of your profit to a worthwhile charity or community organization. Make sure this is not an added-on attribute rather a set of values and principles that come organically from the inside.

“People don’t care how much you know until they know how much you care.” Theodore Roosevelt

Publicize these acts so that you will attract the Millennials and help build your brand. But, in doing so, such products should remain price competitive with non-green solutions.

Take Advantage Of Technology, But Keep It Human

You also want to go digital. Computers and cell phones are a lifeline for the iPhone generation. It is important to use this to attract them to your brand. Also, be active on social media and find other ways to digitally promote your brand as much as possible. Social profiles should give an impression that a human being is behind the posted messages rather than a faceless corporation. Include stories from employees within the business expressing their delight on how end-users are benefiting from their work rather than just slogans from the marketing department.

Almost half of the current workforce consists of Millennials (Google), which means they are more likely to make purchasing decisions. Optimizing of content on your website that is friendly with search engines is essential to reaching Millennials. They prefer performing searches with a mobile device so be sure your website’s content displays correctly on smaller screens.

Attracting the Millennial generation with your brand is a smart choice if you want to be successful. By catering to this generation, your business will grow faster. Whatever you do, keep it short and sweet, be ecologically aware, and have digital offerings.
