Exacting in its difficulty
steadfast in its persistence
forever easy to be misunderstood
once excitement in knowing
constant adrenaline in the fear of not
Chaotic harmony is modulated
by strained loss and remembrance
chorded dissonance upon a troubled mind, euphoria in faded madness
sorrows drawn in the misty rain
Never mind the depth
nor mind the single heart
forget the cold shoulder of lonely
forget impassioned caring
fallow emotions don’t make the grass greener
A nail can only be struck so many times
strung together whispers too far from reach, pretending that one is calling your name, when waking up to hushed silence, and when the new dawn says, “So long.”
Can the sharpest edge of light
or the most insignificant sliver of hope
even begin to cast aside the darkness of loss?
can you tell me?
try as you might
