She promised she’d always be True

She was the light of my day

Out of Monterey,

A lady through and through;

Under a lover’s moon on a night In June,

She promised she’d always be True

From the very start, she was

The tide of my heart,

We were both fools of desire,

On a desert run, we flew

To close to the sun;

Wanting to take love higher

How high can love go,

You’ll never ever know

Until you really try it;

Listen to me, love isn’t free

It may not be as you like it.

Then came that night,

At the end of our flight;

She was a wildfire from the start.

She set out to sea on a

Soft southern breeze,

Leaving me with a broken

Heart

What can you do

When love fever strikes you

And takes you to your knees?

You get up off the floor

And you beg for more –

Loving if you please…

More loving if you, please.

May the day beam Solarity upon You — dear Reader.

As an unrepentant poet I dig through the bone-pile of words left behind. With good fortune I resurrect them and they ascend for all to see.
