For centuries, people have been trying to find ways to increase longevity. Looking younger and living longer has been in the top of their list, and though a few decades ago the average life expectancy ranged between 65–85 years with only a few rare cases of people making it close to 100, by year 2030 the advanced population of ages 65+ are expected to exceed the younger population in size. As we move closer to this reality, healthcare professionals and facilities are faced with many challenges, and called to evaluate how the change in the needs of this overgrowing aging population will eventually affect the demands placed on the health care system in the future, and hence take action.

For this event, we have gathered a group of experts in their field, to share their knowledge on the matter from the health care system provider standpoint, and discuss on the following:

• Taking a closer look into the average expected increase in demographics by the year 2030 for the ages 65 and older, in comparison to ages below 65

• Evaluating the needs of this overgrowing aging population and how they will eventually affect the demands placed on the health care system in the future

• In what ways can we effectively address the financial gap created in the revenue cycle of the health care system with this growing Medicare population

Speakers:

Marc Nakagawa, CFO, Magnolia Regional Health Center, Mississippi

Kevin Shrake, CEO, Kindred Healthcare

Rita Marti, Senior Director, Hospital Partnerships, USA Senior Care Network
