Startup Guide is announcing its first cross-country guidebook exploring entrepreneurship and innovation in the Nordic region with support from SAS, PwC, Danske Bank and Rising North, in collaboration with Slush as well as our local community partners Icelandic Startups, SUP46 and Maria 01. The book is organised with Technoport and Business Sweden.

Entrepreneurs, accelerators, coworking spaces, universities, investors and experts can now be nominated to be featured in Startup Guide Nordics, the first insider’s guide to exploring entrepreneurship and innovation in the Nordic region. The handbook cuts through the clutter to give you essential data, insights on major trends, inspiring stories and in-depth interviews with the movers and shakers in the Nordic ecosystem — all in one place.

Not only will it ofer a comprehensive overview of the region’s startup ecosystem, it will also put a spotlight on the unique culture and approach to innovation in each Nordic country. In a nutshell, the aim of Startup Guide Nordics is to help newcomers access useful information, get inspired by Nordic success stories and strengthen ties between Nordic startups, creators and innovators. To ensure an accurate and trustworthy guide, the book is co-created with the region and the local startup community in each Nordic country, from 29 June to 11 July, and anyone can contribute by nominating candidates they’d like to see in the book at nordics.startupguide.world.

“In the past decade, the Nordic startup ecosystem has risen through the ranks to become a hotbed for innovation. Everyone’s buzzing about it, but the information about startups and innovation in this region is still very fragmented and spread across five languages,” says Sissel Hansen, founder and CEO of Startup Guide, “With Startup Guide Nordics, we want to make it easy to find essential data, insights on major trends, side-by-side country comparisons about the business landscape, inspiring stories and in-depth interviews with the movers and shakers in the region — all in English.”

Founded in 2014, Startup Guide is a creative content and publishing company that produces guidebooks and tools to help people turn their startup ideas into reality. Startup Guide books help entrepreneurs navigate diferent startup hubs across the globe and are now in 18 different cities across Europe and the
Middle East, including London, Berlin, Tel Aviv and Stockholm.

After the nominations period, the list of candidates will be narrowed down to the top fifty companies and individuals based on the results. Afterward, the regional advisory board — which is selected by Slush and consists of key players in the regional startup ecosystem — votes for the final selection so there’s a balanced representation of industries in the book. Startup Guide Nordics is set to be released in December 2018.
