Throughout her life, country music legend and cultural icon Dolly Parton has spoken openly about many situations, including her faith and humble beginnings. She has made many hilarious comments and has been open about her struggles with fame.

For years, people would poke fun at her for many things, including her appearance and especially when she would sing her song, “Dumb Blonde.” Despite this, she was not discouraged from her dream of making it in the music business. She would continuously ignore what people would say and state, “I know I am not dumb or blonde!”

People can either stand in the way of someone’s dream or they could help make them happen. Last week, I disclosed my love of People magazine, mainly when it shows fancy dresses from big events, and I have the same feeling when I watch “Say Yes to the Dress.”

Last week, we posted a picture on Instagram of someone we support in a lovely white lace dress with a cape-like top. In the photo, she is standing next to her fiancé, about to say: YES! The couple has been together for over six years and were beaming at each other while they tied the knot.

While getting married is great, it’s not for everyone. When it is your dream, though, as Dolly Parton says, “You need to nurture it. Take care of it.”

We wish the happy couple well as they care for each other through the years ahead. There are lots of dreams out there. Let’s all look for opportunities to make dreams happen!
