parachute

I remember that day
when I was looking at the sky
and something fell in my eye
I couldn’t see
I was blind
my heart beated strangely
and I swear I could fly
It was a morning after May
and the sweet song came
and said my name
I swear I could…
When I remember that day
I smile alone
thinking and wondering
what has this become
and even though it’s still confusing
eluding, and sometimes hurting
is the most beautiful thing
I’ve seen when I couldn’t see
I look back and see you there,
holding me from the sky
like a parachute,
helping me softly fall
directly to your arms.
