It’s September 1st. Time for my monthly Favorite Medium Reads list. A sampler of some of the wonderful stories I have read the previous month. I like to keep the list to around a dozen (like a box of tasty donuts) and limit stories to those four minutes in length or longer (with occasional exceptions.) I try to add some new writers to the list each month. This month I decided to add some humor stories also. Enjoy.

Death of an Outlaw by A Maguire

At Noon the Bell Tolls by Scott Stavrou

Dreams That Never Came To Be by Pat Link

If I Were A Detective by Sarah Lofgren

The Last Hurrah of a Hungry Poet by Dermott Hayes

Bare Eyes by Jessica Jungton

The Temperature Rises in Lukewarm by Tracy Aston

A Spiritual Feast by Annie Littlewolf

Talking Gravitational Distortion Blues by Jeff Suwak

the call of the void. by j. everett

A Charles Splints Case: Mask by Dan Leicht

Riding the Rails by E.D. Martin

When I decided to add humor to this list, I knew I wanted to include a “Roy” story. I chose this one because it was the first story by Roy that I read, shortly after discovering Medium. I knew then that I had found a vein of humor gold. A classic.

Cake and Confessions by Roy
