Pray this when your heart is heavy with brokeness

Lord Jesus, I am so broken
I’ve not followed the words you’ve spoken
Something inside me longs for satisfaction
Chasing this fulfillment, I can’t seem to get any traction
I try to compartmentalize my pain
But my accomplishments turn out to be ill-gotten gain
For the hurts I’ve received
Have turned outward to inflict others with my grief
I need your mercy to cover my shame
You offer me grace to soak up the blame
Out of love for me, you paid the price to bring me life
To lift me from my brokeness and strife
In your name is sweet relief
If only I will trust in you with total belief

I am your treasure, your delight
Into my heart you have made shine this light
So in your face I can see the Father’s glory
And carry to a broken people the “I am treasured” story

I see the light of unfailing love as I gaze into your face
I let your love flow deep inside me, as you banish my fears without a trace

Out of joy, you pour your truth and love into my jar of clay
Shine, Jesus, shine, make my darkness like the light of noon-day

I sing for joy because you are true
Broken made new
The joy of true life indued.

2 Corinthians 4:6-7
For God, who said, ‘Let there by light in the darkness,’ has made this light shine in our hearts so we could know the glory of God that is seen in the face of Jesus Christ. We now have this light shining in our hearts, but we ourselves are like fragile clay jars containing this great treasure. This makes it clear that our great power is from God, not from ourselves.

Psalms 13:5-6
But I will trust in your unfailing love. I will rejoice because you have rescued me. I will sing to the Lord because he is good to me.

Isaiah 43:17-19
Do not remember the past events, pay no attention to things of old. Look, I am about to do something new; even now it is coming. Do you not see it? Indeed, I will make a way in the wilderness, rivers in the desert.

Jeremiah 31:3
Long ago, the Lord said to Israel, ‘I have loved you, my people, with an everlasting love. With unfailing love I have drawn you to myself.

Psalm 147:11
The Lord’s delight is in those who fear him, those who put their hope in his unfailing love.

Luke 1:78-79
Because of God’s tender mercy, the morning light from heaven is about to break upon us, to give light to those who sit in darkness and in the shadow of death, and to guide us to the path of peace.
