Although it is on Colorado’s Front Range. They call Pueblo the Steel City because of the enormous Colorado Fuel & Iron (CF&I) steel mill on the city’s south side.

Today, Pueblo is famous for its pleasant climate, low-cost of living, beautiful scenery, and Victorian architecture. They also call the Pueblo the “Home of Heroes” because four Congressional Medal of Honor winners hail from the city.

A day trip to Pueblo can be a pleasant diversion during a Colorado Visit. Pueblo is easy to get to because it is only 112 miles south of Denver on Interstate 25.

Lake Pueblo State Park: A popular destination for boating, fishing, and other water activities, this park also features scenic hiking trails and wildlife viewing opportunities.

The Lake Pueblo Reservoir is the sixth largest body of water in Colorado. They created Lake Pueblo by damming the Arkansas River. A Colorado State Park surrounds the reservoir, creating lots of recreational activities.
