Molten Salt Reactor Coming to Indonesia
Indonesia’s National Research and Innovation Agency and ThorCon want to develop and build a molten salt reactor (MSR).
A molten salt reactor is a nuclear fission reactor that heats salt rather than water. To explain, most nuclear reactors heat water to make steam to generate power. ThorCon Power’s (MSR) uses salt until it is becomes liquid. The hot liquid can make steam to generate power.
