If you’re interested in big data, and especially if you’re interested in the automotive space, there’s some interesting new developments happening this week. On Monday September 23rd, Marketcheck.com — the car industry’s most comprehensive dataset of online vehicle listings — will release five new updates expanding upon their automotive inventory APIs. Here are a few highlights:

NEW: Daily Market Averages from 50k+ Dealerships -users will now be able to pull averages from 50k+ dealer inventories for: price, mileage & total days-on-market, with zip code and trim level breakdowns. The data refreshes every 24 hours making Marketcheck the most comprehensive and up-to-the-minute source, for near real time data directly from the marketplace.

NEW: Most Popular Cars Broken Down by Region - now there’s quick and easy way to see which cars are the best sellers in which parts of the country. This cool, new feature works by comparing average total days on market (DOM) by year, make, model & trim, for every local market.

NEW: Certified / Non-Certified Comparisons - New facets have been added enabling users to refine data by “Certified” (CPO) or “Non-Certified” status. The implication here is that you’ll be able to see how “certified” status really impacts a car. This is the first time data of this type and scope has been made publicly available.

NEW: Dealerships Broken Down by: Franchise vs. Independent - Users of the Dealership API will now be able to further refine their results by franchise vs. independent status, and layer them against all of the pre-existing search criteria.

NEW: Flexible Zip Code Searching - A simple way to search areas surrounding a given zip code has also been added, so API calls will no longer require lat and long.

With almost a billion car listings gathered over the last five years, Marketcheck is the largest aggregator of car market data from across the Internet. Developer and researcher access is provided via Marketcheck’s industry leading APIs. For more information check us out online at Marketcheck.com or call us at (801) 735–3351.
