5 Free Productivity Boosting Online Tools
Our team at THAT SOCIAL AGENCY work remotely. We don’t have an office, we are a nomadic agency and we work with digital nomads distributed around the world. The need for excellent online organisational and collaborative tools is important for us to continue working as an efficient and productive team.
In 2014, FlexJobs saw a 26 percent increase in the number of remote job listings over 2013. With more companies working remotely, more brilliant online productivity boosting and organisational tools are surfacing.
Here’s 5 of our favourites.
SLACK
Slack is an extremely easy collaborative tool that helps you organise your workload efficiently. This can be done by making channels for a project, a topic, a team and more. You can also send messages directly, share your files anywhere and have all of your notifications in one place.
What we like:
- Slack’s free version is fully integrated with 10 services such as Google Drive, Dropbox, and Twitter! You can even receive external notifications via Slack, so you don’t have to keep switching between apps
- Sharing documents, images, PDFs couldn’t be easier! You can share with anyone you want as well as adding notes or prioritising before you send
MEISTERTASK
Meistertask is one of the most intuitive task management tools we have used that is completely free! It’s simple, comes with a customisable dash and project boards as well as checklists, comments and attachments.
What we like:
- Easy to use! Meistertask’s board structure is similar to Trello’s but it has a much better look and feel, as well as advanced notification and category settings. No training is required, just sign up and manage your tasks, simply and on-the-go!
- Ability to transfer data from Trello and Asana
ASANA
Asana is a helpful, organisational tool for team workflows and task-management. It has a wealth of core features to choose from such as due dates and the ability to upload attachments, as well as unlimited tasks, projects, and conversations.
What we like:
- Fast and responsive with an attractive design and fluid interactive elements
- Its free version supports up to 15 team members
- Charts to show the progress of a team or task
GOOGLE DRIVE
Google Drive is one of the key tools we use for file storage and synchronisation. It allows you to edit and share files, store files via the cloud, create spreadsheets and presentations plus many other useful applications.
What we like:
- A safe place for all your files. Google Drive backs up of all your data automatically by storing your files securely in the cloud
- Access and edit your files from any device
- 15GB of storage for free and you can buy more if you need it
BITRIX24
Bitrix24 describe themselves as a suite of social collaboration, communication and management tools for an organisation, and it really is! It can be a little daunting and complicated to use at first, but once you learn the ropes, it is an extremely effective and useful tool.
What we like:
- Data capture — you can directly upload PDF documents such as invoices and it captures all of the data, saving you from manually entering data
- Bitrix24 is compatible with Linux and Mac, iOS and Andriod (for mobile)
- Shows sales data by product, type, and customer
