Keep It Simple Sally: List Building 101
I remember when I first heard the term ‘email list’. I didn’t even know what it was, let alone how to build one. The idea of building a list was so scary, I chucked it in the bottom of a suitcase and threw it in the attic for a good 6-months.
Thankfully, as I began to understand the concept, I dragged it down, wiped the dust off my face, and got to work.
BUT…
Turns out there’s a whole lotta crap on the net about how to build a list. Most of it is complicated as f*ck. Much of it is completely unnecessary.
Here’s a simple list building strategy:
1. Find a home for your list — I use ConvertKit and I’d highly recommend it (get your 30-day free trial here — this is an affiliate link).
2. Go to Google Docs or Canva and make a freebie your ideal customer NEEDS (not wants, not thinks is cool… solve a problem peeps).
3. Create a landing page where your new friends can jot down their deets so you can send them their freebie. Sounds like the most difficult part of the setup, hey?
