Britton Marketing & Design Group Wins Big at the 2015 Digital Marketing Awards

It’s always nice to get recognition for your work, but to get that recognition among peers in the form of a shiny crystal award … and to get not one, not two, but eight of those awards? Holy acceptance speech, Batman! That’s the equivalent of getting hoisted onto neighbors’ shoulders and paraded through the streets while Queen’s “We Are the Champions” plays in the background.

We were humbled and honored at Greater Fort Wayne Business Weekly’s 2015 Digital Marketing Awards when Britton Marketing & Design Group picked up eight of the 16 awards for agencies in the Fort Wayne area. For all you baseball fans, that means we batted .500, and we couldn’t be more proud.

If we can’t successfully do digital marketing for ourselves, then we have no business offering it to clients!

The biggest deal was when we went up against other Fort Wayne agencies and won Digital Marketer of the Year. You see, we love that we get to work with clients from all over the country while staying centrally located in the Midwest. And to rub shoulders with our local agency friends while picking up a fair dose of recognition was quite the experience. It was a great merger of who we are as individuals with what we’ve become as an agency.

The awards were based on the work we’ve done for Britton Marketing itself as opposed to client work. (We figured if we can’t successfully do digital marketing for ourselves, then we have no business offering it to clients!) The scrutinized pieces were our website, our blog and our social media efforts.

As anyone in the digital world knows, a lot goes in to creating, maintaining, and perfecting digital and content marketing. Nothing comes easily. So here’s a look at our winning categories and some thoughts on each.

Best Overall Editorial

In this fast-paced world, it’s easy to assume that people don’t have time to read and that words don’t matter. But no matter what the current pulse is, we take content creation seriously. In everything we write, we start at the center of the brand, taking into consideration tone and voice and story. From there, we can craft content that adds to the overall brand experience, whether we’re writing for ourselves or for clients. It was great to see that get noticed.

Best Use of Photography & Graphics

We wouldn’t have the clients or the work we have without our eye for beautiful, idealistic images. We love creating worlds that make you want to live within them. It’s what makes our digital and traditional content stand out. Winning this award provided that added reassurance that we’ve found our sweet spot and that we make the most of it.

Best Blog Entry

We were proud to take this one home! The winning post was our blog “What Happened When Our Story Went Viral On Medium.” It’s funny how blogging about a blog can result in even better blogging.

Best Multi-Author Blog

It definitely takes a village to master a company blog. We rely on a great team of writers to keep our content fresh, engaging and coming at you multiple times per week. It was awesome to see Sue, Emily, Jeff, Meghan, Nic, Chip, Casey,Dennis, Amanda, Steve, Bridget and everyone else who has contributed this year recognized!

Best Use of Twitter

We don’t do anything fancy with Twitter — we just use it. All of it. Consistently. Strategically. We’re always tweeting great marketing articles or techie news that we find around the Web, and it goes to show that being active, consistent and involved in an online space can get you the results you want.

Best Use of Pinterest

Like Twitter, we don’t have any tricks up our sleeves when it comes to Pinterest, but we do take the same approach. And that simple mantra paid off at the Digital Marketing Awards. Pinterest is where our designers and creatives get to highlight their work and what inspires them. We’re thrilled that this space was deemed “best of” for Fort Wayne agencies.

Best Integrated Social Media

Everything we do online is churned out through our social media channels and a hand-picked network of websites, community spaces and mediums. Our omnichannel approach and careful consideration for content distribution is fueled by our content-marketing formula, Content Cartography.

We can’t tell you how great it was to see recognition for this “behind the scenes” part of the job. All hail content-strategy-and-data nerds!

Digital Marketer of the Year

All of our awards resulted in one impressive statement at the Greater Fort Wayne Business Weekly Digital Marketing Awards, and the result was that we received the shiniest award of them all, the cream of the crop, the coveted Digital Marketer of the Year award.

We’ve been perfecting our digital and content marketing for a while now, and as these awards prove, we’re in the space in a powerful way. As we look to expand and take our know-how to the client level, we’re excited by what the future will bring. More awards? Maybe. But more than anything we’re hoping for results that mean more revenue and a strong, impactful online presence for our clients.
