The Best of the Best: Spotlighting Great Custom Email Designs
Good design is an essential element of great email campaigns. But what’s “good” design? We thought it would be fun to ask members of our Design Services team to pick out some of their favorite design projects of 2017. We didn’t want to choose any “winners” per se; our designers are doing exceptionally interesting and excellent custom marketing work for many of our customers. It would be impossible to pick a “best,” but we did want the team to shine a light on some custom campaigns that strike all the right chords when it comes to design best practices.
So the staff chose a few personal favorites, campaigns that are eye-catching, well-thought-out, beautifully designed, and represent the best of these brands and what they offer to the subscribers on their email lists.
Kyra Young, one of our talented designers on the iContact Design Services team, went a step further and shared her take on the designs, highlighting what sets them apart. Her comments offer great insight for brands looking to improve the “look” and effectiveness of their email campaigns.
So check them out, you may find inspiration for your own email campaigns. Many thanks to Kyra and the entire Design Services team for spotlighting design best practices and for producing some really awesome work. And kudos to the many marketers accomplishing great email campaigns with iContact!
The Best of the Best (in no particular order!)
Client: Astro
Kyra: I love how the designer uses color and a centered layout to call attention to the products and supportive testimonials.
Client: Bach To Rock
Kyra: Ever wonder how to showcase multiple subjects clearly? This layout is a great example of how to present diverse subjects while minimizing clutter.
Client: Bates Group
Kyra: The designer makes this a treat to read by visually contrasting the most important information using different font styles.
Client: Emily March
Kyra: I like it when a brand is seen and “felt” in the overall message. The elements are arranged harmoniously; in a very sophisticated way, this arrangement helps to welcome Emily March’s readers.
Client: Macon County Convention & Visitors Bureau
Kyra: Simple and to the point, yet designed to spark interest in the reader to get even more information. Who wouldn’t want to visit Macon!
Client: Mike Sell
Kyra: The modular approach has a friendly and supportive feel that inspires a unique connection with the audience.
Client: Mountain Living
Kyra: This unexpected layout is achieved through variety and repetition. It’s a smart way to spark interest in Mountain Living’s events.
Client: RYK Yoga & Meditation Center
Kyra: Similar to the effects of yoga, the whitespace in this clean design clears the mind and allows for laser focus on the calls to action. By showcasing their mobile apps prominently in their welcome message, Ryk Yoga proves that the differentiating quality of their center is convenience.
Client: The Boca Voice
Kyra: The bold headlines against the short text descriptions make the Boca Voice’s newsletter informative and easy to navigate.
Client: Under Canvas
Kyra: I am definitely partial to great photography, so I love the use of unique images to emphasize Under Canvas’s enjoyable experiences.
