A Fascinating Catalyst

I recently got the opportunity to take The Fascinate Test created by Sally Hogshead. The test is supposed to give an accurate archetype that fits your personality by factoring your strengths and weaknesses based on your responses. I found the personal brand and marketing aspect of this test unique and helpful, especially for those who work with a lot of people. I am always excited to learn more about myself and after taking a quick multiple choice quiz I was impressed to see my results.

The archetype Catalyst is a mix of passion and innovation

My Archetype is the Catalyst, based on my primary and secondary advantages of passion and innovation respectively. Three adjectives that would best describe the Catalyst would be social, energizing and out-of-the-box. I was impressed at how accurate the strengths and limitations of the archetype I belong to are. It was helpful to read and learn about other archetypes especially those that I can work better with to improve my productivity.

My primary advantage is passion. I have always given great importance to my Mother’s advice about contributing my best to everything or not doing it at all. The same goes for every aspect of my life including my family, work, education, hobbies and vacations. I feel a strong sense of responsibility towards the tasks and duties assigned to me and the ones I take up. The seriousness of delivering and exceeding expectations on time is also one of my main motivators in life.

My secondary advantage is innovation. I could attribute it to being left handed, but being creative and unique have always been defining features for me. Whether it is my vibrant dressing or my hobbies of Music and Lego I always find a way to integrate my creativity into my day to day life. It is the ever changing market and the unique challenges that come with every product which fuels my passion for marketing and advertising.

Not only does this test do a great job at identifying archetypes based on advantages, but my favorite aspect is that it also suggests how to use the archetype to a persons advantage. I have always believed that a passionate customer can always make a great salesman. As long as I can tap into this passion, and use innovative techniques I can increase my productivity and have a fulfilling career.
