What’s Good About Big Data And AI?

AI and big data have rapidly developed and improved over the past years. Both have helped us to organize and analyze data that are too big for humans to tackle. Their great functional capabilities help to accomplish the enormous task load and different industries have increased in demand for AI and big data to accelerate work efficiency. Unlike human analysis, AI and big data are more objective when it comes to analyzing data for decision-making. It is less biased and enables accurate prediction. With the technology, businesses can increase conversion and precise forcast. For example, in customized marketing, Stitch Fix utilizes AI and Algorithms to target customers and made an accurate selection of clothing pieces for millions of its users. Last but not least, the technology keeps track of marketing measurement. We as marketers are able to analyze the effectiveness of different ads or strategic marketing plans according to the results from big data, it can help businesses to produce better future forecasts.

Before Trusting Your Data, Validate Its Sources!

One downside of big data and AI is that they may have bugs within the system. Both technologies are still evolving and they depend on how true and valid is the source of data. Although we would like to trust every bit of information we collected or accumulate, we would still need to further verify the validity of the data we utilize whether it is primary or secondary data. It will be crucial for the developer to use data that are from credible sources or to validate data accuracy.

Bots And “Fake” Accounts Are Threats To Marketers?

Bots and fake accounts have caused a major issue for data gathering. There are people who sell fake accounts, fake IPs, and fake online information. The system may not able to filter out all the fake accounts or bots that may lead to an inaccurate prediction. Marketers would need to verify the validity of data to prevent using results that are duplicated or untrue and may affect the success of the marketing decision.

Would AI Take Over Human Interaction?

I remember the first time I use a chatbot online to try to resolve an order issue that I encounter a few years ago. An AI chatbot pops out and I was so confused and feel awkward about how to use it, all I was trying to do is to find a bottom where I can talk to a human representative. After few years of improvement in Natural language processing and the wild spread of usage of AI, the technology can mimic human interaction and lead the conversation more naturally. AI helps to perform value-adding interactions, people who may need just a simple change to their order or other request can go thru AI and resolve issues 24/7. Take care of customer issues and resolve conflicts in a timely manner has made the customer relationship more proficient. With human customer service, customers would have to resolve their issues only during office hours.

One drawback is that since AI is still evolving, there may still be some questions or inquires that AI may not resolve. but the system will be smarter and learn while gathering more information and data from users. In conclusion, I do not think that emerging technology will completely take over human interaction in the coming years since there are consumers who prefer to have interaction with a real human, but the technology will definitely help marketers and workers in different industries to carry out tasks smarter and more structured.
